Owned by Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation residents Scott Lee and Shane Chegano, Makwa Development has deep roots in the local community and a commitment to sustainable development.
Makwa Development brings a unique perspective and set of values to the partnership.

Scott Lee
President | Makwa
Scott Lee is former Chief of the Nawash First Nation and has been a leading entrepreneur in his community for over 20 years with interests in construction and retail.

Shane Chegahno
Executive Vice President
Shane Chegahno has been nationally recognized for his work in Housing for the Chippewas of Nawash. He also has extensive experience in Forestry and Construction.

David McFadden currently is Chair of the boards of directors of Toronto Hydro Corp., PCI Geomatics Inc. and 407 International Inc.. He is a former partner of Gowling WLG where he served on the firm’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Energy and Infrastructure Industry Group. David previously served as Chair of the Advisory Board of Fengate Capital’s family of infrastructure funds and as Vice Chair of Macquarie Investment Management Corp.. David is also a member of the Council for Clean and Reliable Energy. He previously served as Chair of the Board of the Ontario Energy Association and of the Ontario Centre's of Excellence.

Makwa Development Corporation and The Cahill Group have joined forces to create Makwa-Cahill LP, a fully qualified Indigenous fabrication company. Focusing on industry fabrication and other strategic work scope opportunities in the energy sector, Makwa-Cahill will work closely with clients in Ontario to create meaningful opportunities for development and employment of qualified trade and professional resources while directly stimulating the local and Provincial economy.
